Here are some examples of volunteer
opportunities at our centre:
In the Outpatient
Clinics, volunteers escort children and family
members to and from other departments within the Centre
and help carry equipment.
The AAC
Program has received tremendous support from
volunteers over the years, both individuals and groups
such as students from Winnipeg School Divisions, who
help with many activities, ranging from copying and
assembling communication symbols, to cataloguing symbols
and creating symbol libraries.
Individuals interested in pursuing
a career in Prosthetics and
Orthotics have spent time with the Department
gathering experience.
For many years, clients from Network
South have provided support to the
Administrative Support Team, assisting with a
range of office tasks.
Volunteers have provided support to
the Take-Out-Toy-Service,
helping families choose specialized toys for their children
with disabilities.
Students who are interested
in pursuing a career in Occupational
Therapy or Physiotherapy
have spent time job shadowing our outreach therapists
in the community and school settings.
