Spasticity Clinic

Purpose of Clinic

The goal of this clinic is to evaluate children with spasticity, a form of increased muscle tone, to determine if the spasticity interferes with the child’s abilities. Management options that may increase function, comfort or ease of caregiving are discussed and a plan of treatment is determined with appropriate follow-up. A physiatrist, nurse and physiotherapist participate in the assessment and treatment.


Written referral by a physician.


Once a month, Wednesday afternoon.

Medical and multidisciplinary services are available to children with varying physical and developmental conditions. A clinical nurse specialist is available to coordinate the services required by children with complex needs.
