The goal of this clinic is to provide ongoing care for clients with congenital myopathies, spinal muscular atrophy and associated disorders through a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, management and treatment.
The clinic team, including an orthopedic surgeon, pediatrician, respiratory physician, therapist, nurse clinician, respiratory therapist and social worker:
Review the health and functional status of the child, and
Work with the child and their family to manage complications such as respiratory problems, muscle weakness, and/or provide equipment and strategies to enhance mobility, independence and environmental access.
