Children living with physical disabilities may require specialized equipment to aid in mobility, seating, standing and activities of daily living. The rehabilitation team meets with children and their parents/caregivers to assess the child’s therapeutic and functional needs and to provide or recommend the appropriate equipment to meet these needs.
Close collaboration between the Assistive Technology team and other agencies providing care to the child, such as therapy agencies, Wheelchair Services, third party funding agencies and private rehabilitation technology suppliers facilitates continuity of care for the child and family.
Written referral by physician or registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
Weekly, on Tuesdays. In addition to the weekly clinics, clinics are held annually in Thompson, Brandon, The Pas and Dauphin. Clinics are also held at several Winnipeg schools throughout the year.
PLEASE bring any of your child’s current equipment that requires assessment or modification.
