The Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation is the fundraising arm for the Rehabilitation Centre for Children. We are both members of the Specialized Services for Children and Youth (SSCY) Network, located in SSCY Centre. The Children’s Therapy Initiative was created to improve the coordination of services for children and youth across Manitoba. We are also a member of the Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres.

The Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation is a Manitoba charity dedicated to helping children and youth with disabilities live as independently as possible. We are the fundraising arm for the Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC) – an outpatient facility providing services and outreach therapy for children and youth with a range of physical and developmental challenges.
Through the generous support of our community members we are able to re-invest funds into the Rehabilitation Centre for Children and provide life-changing programs, services and equipment for children and youth with disabilities. The Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation receives no government funding and is 100% supported through private donations, grants and special events. We need your help to ensure all children have the support they need to reach their full potential.

Specialized Services for Children and Youth (SSCY) is an initiative focused on the integration and, where possible, co-location, of services for Manitoba children and youth with disabilities and special needs. The initiative addresses the many recommendations made over the past decade to improve the coordination and integration of services for children and families. It is also in keeping with the direction that the provincial government and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) have been taking in integrating services and ensuring improved client centred service.
SSCY is an alliance of families, community agencies, regional health authorities, and government that provides specialized community‐based services for children and youth to support them in reaching their full potential. SSCY services are delivered in a coordinated, integrated, family‐centred manner by bringing stakeholders together to provide expertise in service delivery, research, education and technology serving the Province of Manitoba and surrounding areas.
SSCY Centre opened in spring 2016, and is located at 1155 Notre Dame Ave. in Winnipeg. The facility provides over 94,000 square feet of space for approximately 250 staff.

The Children’s Therapy Initiative (CTI) started in 2002 to improve the coordination of audiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech-language pathology services for children across Manitoba. CTI is a joint program of many provincial government departments (Education, Families, Health, Healthy Child Manitoba, and Healthy Living).
The goal of CTI is to provide coordinated, regionally based services that allow children and youth to reach their full potential. Parents, caregivers, doctors and other clinicians may make referrals through CTI for audiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech-language pathology services. CTI then sends the referral to the correct service provider.

The Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres (CAPHC) is a non-profit organization that brings together many healthcare organizations across the country representing multidisciplinary health professionals providing health services for children, youth and their families within quaternary and tertiary health centres, community health centres, rehabilitation centres, and home care provider agencies nationwide.
CAPHC is committed to promoting, facilitating, and advocating for national health delivery guidelines supported by evidence. All Canadian children’s hospitals and their respective Foundations are members of CAPHC, thereby providing linkages to clinical care, education and research. CAPHC’s mandate is to affect system-wide change in the delivery of health services to children and youth across Canada. CAPHC focuses on initiatives that have national and broad relevance and which are practical and actionable at the point of service delivery.
