Looking for ways to be active with your child or teenager with special needs?

Please join us as Carol Kehler, Physiotherapist, RCC L.I.F.E Program (Leisure in Fun Environments) speaks about camps and other recreational programs being offered through RCC.

After our speaker, there will be time for general discussion and socialization.

New session: February 7, 2012: Promoting Flexible Thinking and Interaction With Your Child at Home.

This series of seven workshops is designed for caregivers only. We will be examining how children with developmental issues or ASD can learn to be flexible in their ability to think and to communicate, and the impact of disability on family interaction. Small changes in the caregiver’s approach to the child can have a big impact on the child’s thinking processes; in each session there will be opportunity for discussion, practice, and a small homework assignment will help you to integrate the ideas once you get home to your child.

The information provided in each session builds upon previous sessions, so please try to attend the entire series.

Tuesday evenings, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the River Room at the Rehabilitation Centre for Children, February 7 to March 20, 2012.

RBC Art & Jam program resumes at RCC!

RBC’s Saturday Night Art & Jam program will resume on September 17, 2011 at the Rehab Centre for Children. In its third year, this program for youth and young adults aged 10 to 21 combines music therapy and art activities.
